Calculate Marine Corps WHtR

Record height to the nearest 0.50 inch.

Measure at the navel and round down to the nearest 0.50 inch. The lower provided measurement is used. Measurement 3 is optional.

Marine Corps WHtR method

  1. Record height in inches.
  2. Measure the waist twice at the navel using a self-tensioning tape.
  3. Use the lower measurement and round it down to the nearest half inch.
  4. Divide the recorded waist by height to calculate WHtR.

Public Marine Corps screening rule: WHtR must be less than or equal to 0.52.
